My English level
I am at level B2 I suppose.
Listening
I can understand spoken English on CDs of English class books very well as they are clear and well pronounced. When listening to the radio such as BBC or watching TV and movies I sometimes have problems to understand everything. Despite the fact I do not understand each word I can understand the issue. It all depends on topics too.
Reading
I like reading in English. I sometimes ignore words which I do not understand and I follow the plot in the book but at another time I want to know every single word. American authors use vocabulary that I am not sometimes familiar with.
Writing and grammar
I write less than I would need. I find writing a formal text as the most difficult. I make mistakes in sentence structures. I have to check verbs to make sure the right prepositions and I work with a dictionary a lot. I think writing is my weakest point.
Speaking
I speak English every day while teaching, talking to my foreign pupils or calling to their parents. I feel that my speaking is fluent when talking about specific topics repeatedly. My mouth sometimes makes mistakes and my ears can hear them immediatelly.
Pronunciation
My pronunciation is not at high level. I can pronounce single words well but I have difficulties in linking the words in a sentence correctly. As I have found out during phonetic seminars with Mrs Irena Headlandová Kalischová.
