Tricky verbs

I keep confusing these pairs of verbs. I have decided to end it and start to be sure about them. The problem was that I knew typical situations when I could use them, but in new ones I tried to avoid them.

RISE (rose, risen) x RAISE (raised)
The rise of crime/ the see level is rising./ rise against x She raised both arms/ raise children/ raise money

LIE (lay, lain, lying) / LAY (laid, laid, laying)
I understand the meaning well, I just confused: lie down and lay, probably because of the same meaning in Czech.
She lay down on the grass. x She laid trays on the table.

Reflection   June 10, 2017
I am happy that I can say - I manage this goal. It wasn't so difficult after all. The bad news is that I need to revise these verbs from time to time. I mean the forms of the verbs. When I do not see them written nicely in order and shown next to one another, after a year I start to confuse them again. That's another reason why I chose this goal and it helped me to arrange them.
